I am Peter Hurtado.

I am running for state senate in the 42^nd district of Illinois to promote economic growth and bring back fiscal responsibility in Springfield.  For the past 11 years, the leadership in Illinois has amassed debt, created a structural deficit, and chased away jobs from our state.  Even with the historic 67% increase in the personal income tax rate, and the 45% increase in the corporate tax rate, Springfield has continued to produce deficits and withhold money from schools and vital non-profits.  All the while, Illinois has suffered the largest job losses of any state in the country. That amounts to 30,000 jobs lost in 2011 alone.

If elected in the 42^nd district of Illinois, I promise to restore fiscal sanity to Springfield and encourage private investments in job creation.  Together, we can save our state from a bleak future created by current mismanagement at the state level.
